Imaginary Puddles
Fine differences in pavement
these steps of assurance, the concrete
beneath us and these puddles
full of sky
the excitements of memory
that which conditions motion to frame
scenery caught in glances of atmosphere
hung on the ground
portions of daylight refracted
these parts congruent mindfulness
Splashed patterns of spark
dissipated in the frame of a puddle
or reflected in the light within
these dust particles
shape formulate path
condition motion to stay in place
trees I could fit in my mind
are always actually moving
my feet are getting wet in imaginary puddles
this concrete beneath me sunken to the sky
in reflection
